KC Country Club Plaza Nike Store Shutdown Confirms Retail Death

We talked about this setback over the weekend and now it's new fact along with a truism . . . 

If the Plaza is going to make a comeback, it won't happen by way of upscale shopping.

Here's a bit of proof for our axiom . . .  

"The athletic apparel and shoe brand closed its retail store this weekend at 450 Nichols Road in the former Victoria’s Secret location.

"We spotted a worker taking down the Nike sign above the front door July 21. This is the second time Nike has closed a store on the Plaza.

"In 2021, Nike closed its original location down the street — where Rally House is now — before reopening at the current address in 2023."
