"A new Kansas law will go into effect this year, requiring public schools to provide education on fentanyl and other opioids, as well as active shooter training for high school students.
"The law’s proponents say it addresses a critical issue, referencing Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) statistics that indicate 80% of overdose deaths last year involved fentanyl. This new requirement specifically targets students from ninth through 12th grade."
