The upcoming Kansas gubernatorial primary election includes competitive races in both the Republican and Democratic parties. Candidates in this primary run on a single ticket with their chosen lieutenant governor running mates. 

The Republican primary field includes Kansas State Senate Prez Ty Masterson, State Insurance Commissioner Vicki Schmidt, State Secretary of State Scott Schwab, former Johnson County Commissioner Charlotte O'Hara, businesswoman Stacy Rogers, financial executive Philip Sarnecki, and Inman resident Nick Reinecker. On the Democratic side, the candidates include Kansas State Senator Ethan Corson, State Senator Cindy Holscher, and Overland Park Mayor Curt Skoog.

State Senate President Ty Masterson has received the endorsement of Donald Trump, while State Senator Ethan Corson is endorsed by Governor Laura Kelly.

Central themes in the campaign include discussions on property taxes, funding for public schools, rural healthcare access, and state economic development incentives.
