Local book worms are making a comeback if only because the robots have taken over the Internets and movies are mostly meh . . . Here's a glimpse at the progress and the local angle . . .
"U.S. bookstore companies jumped 70% from 2021 to 2025, from 2,010 to 3,416, per the American Booksellers Association, and 73% of booksellers reported higher sales last year.
"KC has followed the curve. Under the Cover arrived in late 2023, Monstera's Books in March 2024 and New Material Books in the West Bottoms that December."
