We've all gotta make cash to eat . . . We don't begrudge the tactic BUT it's worth identifying for the purposes of local news edification amid the ongoing demise of dead-tree media. 

Here's the word sent our way about the practice . . . 

"Disappointing to see The Star running these glorified press releases disguised as real journalism. Flooding the site with paid advertorials completely tanks reader trust and ruins the credibility of actual local reporting."

And a quick bit of push back on advertorials in general . . . Even if we're not above using them but demanding a bit more fun in the process:
