Kansas City Royals Slugger Powers Into Home Run Derby

The press released item earned more than a bit of coverage today without much insight into WHY Jac Caglianone garnered the MLB honor.

Here's a bit more insight . . .  

"The 23-year-old currently leads the Royals with 14 home runs. Much of that production came during a monstrous June, when he caught fire at the plate. He hit nine home runs during the month. According to Statcast, he has an average exit velocity of 93.7 mph. He also owns a 57.2% hard-hit rate, which ranks in the 98th percentile."
