Kansas City Police Investigate Victim Shot Dead At Townhome

Sadly, we didn't make it through the holiday weekend without a homicide.

Here is the report that police are sharing with local media . . .  

Homicide 4600 block of Overton 

At 8:30PM, officers were dispatched to the 4600 block of Overton on a reported Shooting. 

Officers arrived to the scene where they were directed inside of a townhome and located an adult male victim suffering from apparent gunshot trauma and unresponsive. Officers rendered medical aid until EMS declared the victim deceased. 

There is no preliminary information that indicated what may have lead up to the shooting. A unknown male suspect is believed to have left the area prior to police arrival. A person of interest has not yet been identified and no one is in custody. 

Homicide detectives and crime scene personnel responded to the scene to begin gathering evidence and collecting witness statements. This incident is being investigated as a homicide and is ongoing at this time.
