Jackson County Exec LeVota Cancels Delinquent Tax Auction

Credit where it's due . . . This is another transformation move that signals the Exec understands public frustration with years of sketchy billing . . . Here's the word: 

Every summer, Jackson County sells properties on the courthouse steps. These are for sale after three consecutive years of unpaid property taxes.

This year’s sale was set to include unpaid taxes from 2022, 2023, and 2024.

“I’m not confident that the 2022 numbers are correct. So, I think it’s only important, only the right thing to do is to cancel the tax sale,” said County Executive Phil LeVota.
