As always, TKC wants to stay out of court if only because our experience at Catholic school reminds us that when everything goes wrong . . . People typically blame the snarky Westside Latino dude.

"A PAC backing a Jackson County Legislator received a record $50,000 contribution from a St. Louis PAC—more than his PAC had received from all 88 of its previous contributions combined.
"One month later, that St. Louis PAC received $50,000 from A LADY, whose husband’s firm was seeking a 99-year lease of Jackson County property—along with $3 million from the county—to build housing.
"Legislators were asked to bypass normal committee review and approve the deal without a specified site or negotiated terms.
"They voted 7-1-1 to table it. THE BENEFICIARY OF THE DONATION cast the lone vote against tabling.
"A legislative aide later ALLEGEDLY offered another legislator up to $50,000 to revive the deal.
"That allegation has not been proven, and THE LEGISLATOR did not answer @KCBizJournal questions. The sheriff has referred the matter for an outside investigation."
