Even in the deepest red state . . . We doubt a dystopian surveillance state has much support and so the people who cheer this kinda thing have to play the bully in order to convince themselves.

More reasonable conservatives might see how these kinda of crackdowns ACTUALLY make it harder to implement reasonable immigration controls.

ICE agents gave her a choice: remain in detainment or go home – but only if she agreed to wear an ankle monitor.
In June 2025, ICE ordered officers across the country to increase their use of GPS ankle monitors on all migrants, even if they don’t have a criminal record.
Their use jumped from just 17,225 ankle monitors in 2024 to more than 53,000 in use today.
