Gunfire Kills Kansas City Man After Intersection Electric Bike Shootout

The second homicide so far this week . . . After this town enjoyed a somewhat peaceful postscript to the World Cup . . . Here is the report that police share with local media . . . Check-it: 

Homicide 48th Ter. And Vermont Ave. - LATE DEATH 

This morning at 11am officers were dispatched to 48th Ter. And Vermont Ave. on an injury accident call. While en route officers were advised the call was a possible shooting call. 

On arrival officers located an electric motorbike at the scene abandoned, as well as indications of a shooting crime scene. Officers were told that the victim had been transported to the hospital via KCFD EMS prior to their arrival. 

Additional officers responded to the hospital and made contact with medical personnel who were treating the victim. Emergency medical personnel advised the victim had been shot and was in critical condition with life-threatening injuries. 

Preliminary investigation indicates the victim was shot at the location where the electric bike was located in the intersection. 

Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators responded to the scene this afternoon and canvassed for witnesses and processed the scene for available evidence. 

This evening detectives were notified from the hospital that the victim died from his injuries. This is now a homicide investigation and homicide detectives have taken over the investigation which remains ongoing tonight.
