This morning we share a glimpse at environmental science by way of an activist who would like us to attended her protest . . . Sadly, saving the planet isn't nearly as fun as hoping that she also had an OF that need some subs . . . Take a look:
"Urban Heat Islands are created when a man-made environment reflects and absorbs heat, causing the area to be anywhere from 1 to 20°F hotter than surrounding green spaces. Kansas City has had a steady increase in temperature and annual rainfall since 1970, the combination of which greatly increases humidity as well as chances of heavier downpours and severe weather events.
"The architect of this project has confirmed that “heat and water vapor will come off the building” as part of the cooling system. A new study shows that areas downwind from data centers can be 1 to 4°F hotter than normal and that effect can be felt over 6 miles away (as far south as Brookside and as far north as Gladstone)."
