There was a time when The Embassy Suites on The Country Club Plaza served as the leading venue for Midtown Kansas City social life and after hours good times.
The parking lot transition is apropos and a local drone operator recently shared the best glimpse at this end of an era . . .
"The building officially closed back in September of last year after it was deemed “functionally obsolete” by the hotel operator that leased it. The property is owned by St. Luke’s Hospital, which sits adjacent to the former hotel.
"Officials on the scene confirmed Sunday that the property will now be turned into a parking lot. ISW anticipates that it’ll take around three months to complete the cleanup."
