Did MAGA World Cup Reignite Downtown Kansas City Momentum?!?

This morning we present an inconvenient Kansas City truism that should confound partisan hacks from every angle . . . Which is always our favorite kinda post.

To wit . . .

YOU D-BAGS CAN'T HAVE IT BOTH WAYS: DID MAGA WORLD CUP WINNING SPARK NEW LIFE INTO KANSAS CITY?!? OR DID THE PREZ FAIL TO BRING FÚTBOL GLORY TO OUR COWTOWN?!?

Yes, very much like everything about life . . . For people who REALLY believe in anything: YOU LOSE EITHER WAY.

Consider . . .

Our local social media conservative friends tell us: "World Cup fans are reminding Americans why their country is great."

Meanwhile, Prez Trump was an integral part of the games leading off with a FIFA peace prize and then red card advocacy for the doomed American team

Accordingly . . .

World Cup fans CAN'T DENY Prez Trump's pivotal role in the global event and any ensuing benefits also must credit the Commander-In-Chief despite typical "blue city" political opposition. Conversely, for our conservative pals, it's impossible to support the Prez and his World Cup flexing without admitting that our ultra-progressive downtown Kansas City gained from his support.

It's a classic Catch-22 for any of our more literate bloggy scumbags.

Sadly . . .

Our line of logic and reasoning will be ignored by partisan hacks from both sides and that brings us to even more local hype that's far less interesting . . .

"Over the last twenty years, Downtown Kansas City has undergone a remarkable transformation. Historic buildings have been restored, new residential development has brought thousands of residents to the urban core, the KC Streetcar has reshaped mobility, and districts such as the Crossroads, River Market, 18th & Vine, and Power & Light have become destinations in their own right. The result is a downtown that continues to attract investment, talent, visitors, and new opportunities.

"What makes this moment particularly exciting is that the momentum is not slowing down. Instead, a new generation of transformative projects is emerging across multiple districts, reinforcing downtown’s role as the economic, cultural, and civic heart of the region."
