Council Dudes Fight Proposed Downtown Kansas City Data Center

Forgive our tech silliness . . . Here's a glimpse at two councilman aptly choosing to pile-on against a project that has angered TENS OF THOUSANDS OF RESIDENTS living around the loop. 

Here's the word . . . 

In a statement from the Fourth District council members, Crispin Rea and Eric Bunch, they say they oppose a 20-story data center proposed by Revitalization Unlimited. 

Rea and Bunch, in their joint statement, said that while the interest in the downtown area is "appreciated," they are opposed for several reasons.

This includes the proposed demolition of the Western Newspaper Union Building. The building dates back to the 1920s and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2003.

"Kansas City has a rich architectural history that is important to preserve for future generations," the statement said. "This proposal would replace rather than preserve the historic building."
