Clay County Sting Captures Suspected World Cup Creepers

Another reminder about the darker side of global festivities . . . 

Here are the basics . . . 

The Clay County Sheriff's Office Special Victims Unit conducted child enticement operations in June and July, where undercover detectives posed as 15-year-old girls. The detectives engaged in online conversation with men who asked to meet for sex.

When the men arrived at the meet-up spots, they were arrested.

"We know human trafficking increases around large events like the World Cup, so we wanted to help disrupt that," said Sgt. Jeremy Fahrmeier, Special Victims Unit supervisor. "But we also know this danger exists right here at home, with the majority of those arrested residing in the metro area."

7 men arrested in Clay County during World Cup child enticement sting

Seven men were arrested and charged in a Clay County sting operation after attempting to engage in sexual acts with 15-year-old girls, who were actually undercover detectives.
