Last year, the Kansas Bureau of Investigation began looking into sex abuse allegations in the state’s four Catholic dioceses. That investigation has expanded to include the Society of St. Pius X, a traditionalist Roman Catholic breakaway group with a campus in St. Marys, Kansas. The campus is called St. Mary’s Academy and College.

The KBI announced in 2019 that it was looking into reports of sexual abuse by clergy in Kansas' four Roman Catholic dioceses. The investigation later expanded to include the SSPX.
