Owner Ted Grinter says he’s worried Project Bluestem, a planned data center near the property, could threaten the very thing that has made the farm a regional destination for nearly a decade.
Grinter fears nearby industrial development could interfere with the pollinators that make the crop possible.
“I’m worried that the heat dome or the sound is going to mess up the bees, which will mess up my sunflowers,” he said.
