TKC EARNS ANOTHER POLLING SNEAK PEEK AS THE REPUBLICAN 6TH DISTRICT CONGRESSIONAL PRIMARY HEATS UP!!!
This one is fun for us because we couldn't care less who wins in this election fight confronting a former Kansas City talker and termed out KCMO Northland Council Dude . . . HOWEVER . . . We appreciate the glimpse at how local candidates struggle to find a place in the mainstream discourse and how a longtime axiom regarding the nature of American elections has now been reversed . . .
ALL POLITICS IS NATIONAL!!!
And so . . .
Insiders advise us to take a peek at this passage and more of the science . . .
"Nathan Willett holds an early lead over the field with 21% of the electorate compared to second placed Stigall at 18%. The remaining candidates fail to break 5%. It's worth noting that the majority (54%) of primary voters remain undecided.
The bad news for Stigall goes beyond a second-place ballot position as this survey shows that his past statements in opposition to President Trump are a non-starter for GOP primary voters. When informed about an op-ed in which he called the President "the destruction of the Republican Party" voters overwhelmingly reject Stigall. A full 66% of the primary electorate said this made them less likely to vote for him. This number spikes to 71% less likely when you look at self-identified "very conservative" voters who will be the deciding factor in the race."
