PortKC & Willoughby Power Couple Pave Over Kansas City Drivers?!?

Let's call this Friday follow-up . . .

This week the story that earned a great deal of messaging sent our way was a celebration of local power players and their team effort to develop this cowtown.

Of course, we couldn't cover their every move but one of their high-profile "endeavors" is worth special mention . . .

HUSBAND & WIFE TEAM AT PORTKC & WILLOUGHBY BOTH WORK ON THE SOUTH LOOP SCHEME TO SEND KC DRIVER UNDERGROUND!!!

This one is a favorite of TKC if only because the feds have rejected it twice and local corporations are sending rubber checks in order to feign support until cash from the feds arrives . . .

Here's the word . . .

"Willoughby is also doing the naming and branding for the new park over 670.

"PortKC is one of the "project partners" and the primary driver of the effort."

Of course we always try to find some kind of independent confirmation . . .

Here's a recent presser from the PortKC website . . .

"Roy Blunt Luminary Park is the new official name of the South Loop Project, announced today during the Downtown Council’s 2025 Annual Luncheon. The name was revealed by the Project Partners—City of Kansas City, Downtown Council of Kansas City, and Port KC—three years after the park’s concept was first introduced at the same event."

And the design connection via online video promo on a Willoughby video account . . .

"We’re proud to unveil the South Loop Project’s official name: Roy Blunt Luminary Park. More than a park, it’s a symbol celebrating the brilliance in the heart of our city of lights and reconnecting communities.

"Up next: our collaboration continues with brand identity design."

Accordingly . . .

Of course www.TonysKansasCity.com readers might ask about the "intricacies" of a husband & wife team working in tandem with very little oversight from KCMO or Missouri politicos . . . But we're certain they'll figure it out and continue their winning streak.

Developing . . .
