“We are dismayed to hear the Mayor’s public comments that the City will attempt to enter into a binding agreement concerning the proposed stadium … before passage of the proposed ordinance and thereby deny the people a vote,” the letter says.

The letter notes supporters gathered thousands of signatures in a matter of weeks, which the group says shows strong public interest in forcing a vote when city funds, diverted tax revenues, abatements, or bonds would support a stadium project.
