Petition Against New KC Royals Stadium Might Ruin Mayor Q

Consider . . .

Sure, messed up property taxes inspired a recall against former Jackson County Exec but it was the stadium issue wherein power players finally mobilized to help remove the politico by way of recall

Similarly . . .

MAYOR Q NOW CONFRONTS VOTER OUTCRY & ACTIVIST DEMANDS AGAINST TAXPAYER FUNDING FOR THE NEW ROYALS STADIUM!!

And so we ask . . .

HOW CAN MAYOR Q AVOID RUIN AMID TAXPAYER PUSH BACK AGAINST BILLIONAIRE SUBSIDY?!?

First . . .

If he doesn't deliver the cash . . . Corporate interests won't have much use for him.

And then . . .

If he turns his back on the very same activists who have backed his tenure, he risks alienating his progressive base and his hopes for higher office.

Accordingly . . .

Here's the latest on the upcoming stadium fight . . .

The city clerk notified Missouri Workers Power on June 22 that the group's petition was sufficient, a letter to city leaders says. The group announced plans earlier this month to submit 4,500 signatures, saying that community members deserve a voice in the stadium plan.

Now that signatures have been certified, the group is calling on city leaders to take action on the proposed ordinance quickly to avoid uncertainty for voters and to respect the initiative process.

"The people are watching and expect the Council to respect their input and desire for a vote," the letter reads.
