However . . .

This "moment" for NYC is worth consideration because it contradicts a great deal of speculation that the elite were fleeing the city because of the new boss . . . Check-it:  

At a press conference on Monday, New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani seemingly confirmed Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce would be imminently getting married in the city.

"I am fully confident in the work of the NYPD, as well as our state partners, in delivering that safe experience," he told reporters about the World Cup. "We are the biggest city in the country, we are used to big events, and we are incredibly excited for this one. We know it coincides with the Knicks' finals run. We know it coincides with July 4, America 250, Taylor Swift's wedding—all happening at the same time—and we are so excited to welcome the world here."

Swift and Kelce are rumored to get married on July 3 at Madison Square Garden, but there have been no official confirmations. When a reporter asked Mamdani if he was invited, and if he plans to attend, the wedding, he replied "No and no."
