Newsflash: Kansas City Public Schools Demand Income Tax Funding

Here's the problem . . . There are plenty of reasons that smarter people than TKC want to keep the income tax . . . Mainly, to keep po'folk from suffering more sales tax & property tax spikes. 

Meanwhile . . . 

The always cash-rich KCPS unintentionally offers a talking point for opponents of Missouri income tax with this advocacy that conveniently forgets about a nearly a half BILLION in bond money won last year.

"In the resolution, the board said district resources have been “threatened and impacted” by actions taken or proposed at multiple levels of government. The board also pointed to a projected shortfall after Missouri lawmakers did not fully fund the state’s foundation formula for public schools.

The resolution also notes that eliminating Missouri’s state income tax could lead to a future loss of funding for public education, estimating a $1.4 billion impact statewide, with potentially significant consequences for districts, including Kansas City Public Schools."
