"The Argentina captain scored a hat trick Tuesday night in Kansas City's first FIFA World Cup match, leading the defending champions to a 3-0 advantage so far over Algeria.
Messi's first goal was historic.
It was the first World Cup goal ever scored at Arrowhead Stadium and came in his 200th international appearance for Argentina.
He added two more goals in the second half, scoring in the 60th and 76th minutes to complete the hat trick and send Argentina supporters into celebration.
The three-goal performance added another milestone to an already legendary career."
