The U.S. Department of Education sent warning letters to four Kansas school districts about their alleged failure to comply with Title IX policies, specifically regarding gender and educational record access.
The Department of Education's Office for Civil Rights announced that it sent a Letter of Impending Enforcement Action to Olathe Public Schools, the Shawnee Mission School District and Topeka Public Schools for their "continued violations."
With this letter, the districts reportedly have 10 calendar days to "come into compliance or face enforcement action," which could include loss of federal funding or referral to the U.S. Department of Justice.
