KMBZ Talker Scott Parks Shares Addiction Battle & Briefly Steps Away From Mic

A recent local media announcement and social media share regarding one of the most popular afternoon talk shows in the metro . . . Here's the word posted to FB . . .

Scott's statement:

"When Dana first joined the show 15 years ago, and I've believed this since the show launched 20 years ago, I have always emphasized being real and being authentic.  Trying as best you can to be honest.  And I have been authentic.  I have been real.  But I haven't always been honest.  And everyone who listens to the show knows that I have struggled with alcohol for many years of my adult life and I had gotten sober and just felt great.  Just felt great.  Everything in my life was going perfectly.  I had a relapse recently.  I am sober at this very moment.  Sam knows that I had to prove it to him.  But I did have a relapse.  And if it wasn't for my brother and Sam and Dana coming to my house on Wednesday morning I would probably still be in relapse.  I have decided I need help.  I can't do this by myself.  So I will be stepping away from the microphone for about 30 days.  And will be seeking treatment in a city not far from here getting help I need to fix the problem- I have a friend who says 'my life is my fault.'  My life is my fault.  and he's right.  He's absolutely right.  I need help to get out of the situation I have sadly put myself in.  I will be stepping away about 30 days.  I would appreciate your prayers, your thoughts- it's not as fun as it looks.  And that's it.  If you could pray for me and ask the boss upstairs to guide my thoughts I'd really appreciate it."

Thanks to all of you who reached out and took part in our first hour today! Hopeful for a positive outcome more than you know.
