KCPD Apprehend Lady Suspect After Another Woman Stabbed To Death

Tragic circumstances occur in the Northland overnight as Kansas City, Missouri counts homicide #50 compared to 67 at this date last year. 

Sadly, this situation seems like family domestic drama . . .  

Here is the report that police are sharing with local media . . . 

 Homicide 5700 block NE 49th St. 

Just before 12:15 AM officers were dispatched to a residence in the 4900 block of N Topping on a reported disturbance.

Upon arrival, officers located an adult female outside of a residence, matching the description of the possible suspect relayed in call notes. That female was taken into custody for further questioning. As officers continued their investigation, they were directed to a residence in the 5700 block of NE 49th St. They located an adult female victim, outside in the driveway of a residence, suffering from apparent stab wounds and unresponsive. EMS responded to the scene and pronounced the victim deceased at that time.

It is preliminarily believed that this incident occurred as a result of an ongoing argument. 

Homicide detectives and crime scene personnel have both responded to the scene to begin gathering evidence and collecting witness statements. The victim and the suspect are related and detectives are not currently seeking any additional persons of interest. This incident is being investigated as a homicide and is ongoing at this time.

Woman dies from stab wounds in overnight homicide in the Northland

Kansas City Police say a woman was killed and another woman is in custody following an overnight homicide in the Northland.

Police said one woman was stabbed to death and one was detained at North Topping Ave. and NE 49th St. in Kansas City on June 4.
