Here's the word . . .
"While I’m proud of how we’ve welcomed visitors from the around the globe for the World Cup, it matters little if we leave our struggling residents behind.
"Yesterday I met with immigrant and refugee leaders to strategize how we uplift these communities. Access to affordable housing, social services navigation, and youth mentorship and activities were repeated focus points throughout our discussion.
"Then, I heard from leaders from the North Lawn Tenant Union, largely made up of immigrants, who are struggling with abhorrent living conditions. The conversation centered on what tools does the City have to improve living conditions and hold their slumlord accountable.
"Finally, I coordinated with trans leaders on the community engagement rollout for the new conversion therapy ban we’ve been working together on for the last month."
