"Kansas State Board of Education member Dennis Hershberger recently pushed a conspiracy theory alleging that students are falling under the influence of educators who are in cahoots with the Communist Party.

Hershberger, whose district includes Hutchinson, delivered the remarks as the board was receiving a legislative update at its June 9 meeting. Discussion centered on a budget bill proviso targeting student-led school walkouts that result in organized protests."
