
A bad weekend all around for historic local watering holes . . . One current and another part of this town's "activist" history . . .
The Green Lady Lounge stated on social media that an HVAC fire on Sunday has forced staff to move next door until further notice.
“We will be down for a few weeks to a month,” the social media post read. “Very little damage but some water and a beautiful new sky light in the roof.”
About the East side fire . . .
Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas said on Facebook, “The old Green Duck Tavern building has seen a lot, including a challenge today. I appreciate the quick work of Kansas City’s Bravest at the Kansas City Fire Department to put out the blaze. Hearing thus far that folks are safe. More updates as warranted.”
