Found by way BEST & BRIGHTEST TKC READERS . . . Apropos for #TBT, we wanted to share an EXCEPTIONAL GLIMPSE at a bygone institution during its glory days. 

Here's the intro . . . 

"Opened in 1925 during the expansion of the Country Club District, Southwest High School became one of the most respected college preparatory schools in America. By the 1930s it had earned national recognition for academic excellence.

"After decades of success the school closed following the 1997–1998 school year.

"Today Southwest High School lives on in the memories of alumni, the history of Kansas City, and the community that helped shape generations of students."
