Police were involved in a standoff with SUSPECT at a home in Independence near U.S. 24 Highway and Brookside Avenue Wednesday morning.
The house was cleared by Blue Springs police at 8 a.m. before turning over the residence to Independence police. SUSPECT was not found in the home.
At 10 a.m., Independence police turned over the investigation to KCPD. The vehicle believed to be involved in the shooting was found at the home on Brookside.
SUSPECT is still on the run and also has a warrant out for his arrest in Wyandotte County for aggravated assault with a $100,000 bond.
