Terrifying spate of gunfire aimed at police but thankfully it doesn't seem like anybody was seriously hurt in the aftermath . . . Here's the latest report . . .
"Officials with the Missouri State Highway Patrol said witnesses told troopers that an individual with a rifle opened fire on a Kansas City motorcycle officer stopped at a stop sign in the area.
"Troopers said that officer got off of the motorcycle and returned fire. The suspect then ran into a nearby wooded area.
"Responding officers arrived in time to see the suspect run into the woods. The suspect eventually emerged from the wooded area and was taken into custody without incident."
