Kansas City Police Apprehend Suspect After Deadly Double Shooting

The unofficial start of Summer has proven exceptionally violent and here's the latest news blast that might prove it was TOO EARLY for politicos to celebrate "progress" against violence. 

Here is the report police are sharing with local media . . .  

Homicide 12th and Askew 

This evening just before 6:45PM, officers were dispatched on a reported shooting at an apartment near 12th and Askew. 

Upon arrival, officer located an adult male outside of the residence matching the suspect description given in call notes. That individual was immediately taken into police custody for further investigation. Officers began to search the residence for any potential victims of violent crime and located one adult male in a bedroom suffering from life threatening gunshot trauma and an additional adult male unresponsive and suffering from apparent gunshot trauma. Officers immediately began rendering medical aid for both victim until EMS responded and took over. One male victim was declared deceased at the scene and the additional was transported to an area hospital. 

Preliminary investigation indicated an argument took place that escalated into shots being fired. Homicide detectives and crime scene personnel have responded to the scene to begin gathering additional witness statements and collecting any evidence. The investigation is ongoing.
