Kansas City Mayor Q Defends Automatic Tips Despite Outcry

Maybe the Mayor's political instincts aren't as great as his supporter contend . . . 

At the ground level the automatic gratuity has endured consistent criticism not only in Kansas City but across the nation. Now, BEST & BRIGHTEST TKC READERS were FIRST to call out this topic.  

Nevertheless . . . 

Here's Mayor Q's best defense that kinda admits he doesn't know what he's talking about . . .  

"I’ll be honest—What’s wrong with the (temporary) 20% automatic tip in parts of Kansas City right now? Whenever I eat out in a large group, the automatic gratuity is added and I don’t mind it, nor have most of us let it keep us from connecting with a big group of our friends and family while out. This is similar and, again, temporary. 

 "I get the need, particularly for the spots and our working folks that are slammed. I know things are tough right now for a lot of people, but they are too for our wait staff, cooks, and restaurant staff too."
