Kansas City Gunfire Kills At Blue Ridge Busted Shopping Center

The latest deadly local shooting and the 4th homicide to start our World Cup festivities . . . Here is the report that police are sharing with local media . . .

Homicide 8700 block of Blue Ridge

This afternoon just before 1245 officers were dispatched to the 8700 block of Blue Ridge Blvd. on a reported shooting. 

Upon arrival, officers were directed to a parking lot in front of a business where an adult male was located suffering from apparent gunshot trauma. Several individuals were rendering medical aid until KCPD officers took over. EMS personnel responded and transported the victim to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. He was pronounced deceased at the hospital. 

Preliminary investigation indicates an argument took place outside of a business between several different people. The argument escalated to gunfire and the victim was struck. An adult male suspect was taken into custody at the scene for further questioning. 

Homicide detectives and crime scene personnel responded to the scene to begin gathering evidence and collecting witness statements. This incident is being investigated as a homicide and is ongoing at this time.
