With respect to St. Neo . . . For so many devout Kansas City newsreaders, local newsman Bill Tammeus has been a stalwart of our Sunday reading that is as constant as the morning star. 

Like it or not, even into his retirement Mr. Tammeus has continues to advance his faithful work via the Internets and Substack, which provide a nicer alternative for his progressive perspective.

"To think theologically — and, thus, to be open to awe — is to take life seriously and to give yourself the gift of perspective without falsely imagining that we have all the answers to the world’s many puzzles.

"We all know people so entirely wrapped up in themselves that theological thinking seems to be impossible for them. I weep for them because of their egocentrism, their inability to find shocking beauty that seems to me to be built into both the world and into so many of the world’s inhabitants — plants, animals, rocks, everything."
