Kansas City Democratic Socialists Rising?!?!

Recent election victories in New York City have sparked a panic amongst progressive moderates and here in Kansas City we notice that some of the most active candidates in upcoming elections are Democratic Socialists. 

Consider . . .  

Kansas City council candidate Rebeca Amezcua-Hogan has publicly pledged her allegiance to Democratic Socialist NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani

Meanwhile . . .

Missouri democratic socialist Hartzell Gray is still running for Congress against Rep. Cleaver when he isn't making talking about all things anti-Israel and/or concerning racism despite is previously EPIC career in local media that was killed by his silly politics. 

And so we ask . . .

HOW WILL KANSAS CITY PROGRESSIVES REACT TO DEMOCRATIC SOCIALISTS TRENDING?!?

We suspect NOT VERY WELL . . . Given that cowtown Dems trend older, moderate and very sensitive about all of the online bullying that socialists get from their drunk uncles on Facebook at at family gatherings. 

Still . . . 

This week the rise of Mayor Mamdani as Democratic Party power broker has sparked progressive debate and a peek at the future . . . Check-it . . . 

"Proponents of the democratic socialist ideology are pushing for progressive change and a rejection of leadership by the so-called capitalist class. And the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), the grassroots activist organization boosting candidates across the country, is growing its political machine ahead of the 2026 and 2028 elections."

Again, to bring the topic back to KC . . . We share some followup on a local activist effort . . .  

Our branch of the DSA is currently launching an ongoing crusade against ICE by way of cool stickers at local hipster spots:
