Kansas City 2026 Homicide #68: Victim Shot Dead In Driveway

The latest deadly shooting report follows yet another argument that ends in gunfire and tragedy. 

Unofficially,  this is the 68th homicide so far this year compared to 84 at this time last year.

Here is the report that police are sharing with local media . . .  

Homicide 3200 block of E 7th

At 9PM, officers were dispatched to the 3200 block of E 7th on a reported disturbance and sound of shots. 

Officers arrived to the area and located an adult male victim lying in the driveway of a residence suffering from apparent gunshot trauma and unresponsive. Officers rendered medical aid until EMS responded and pronounced the victim deceased at the scene. 

Preliminary investigation indicates an argument ensued between multiple people that escalated into shots being fired. An adult male subject was taken into custody for further questioning. 

Homicide detectives and crime scene personnel responded to the scene to begin gathering evidence and collecting witness statements. This incident is being investigated as a homicide and is ongoing at this time.
