Jackson County Sheriff's Office Offers World Cup Sex Offender Registration

Sheriff's Office Temporarily Opens Saturdays to Register Sex Offender 

As the Kansas City Metro prepares for an influx of people attending the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Jackson County Sheriff's Office is preparing for additional sex offenders.

Pursuant to RSMo §589.400, any person who has been or is required to register elsewhere and who has a temporary residence in Missouri for more than seven days in a twelve-month period, is required to register with that chief law enforcement official.

The Sex Offender Registration and Enforcement (SORE) office is located at 1315 Locust, Suite 100, Kansas City, MO 64106. Normal business hours are Monday through Friday from 8:15 am until 3:15 pm, excluding holidays.

Although, to accommodate existing sex offenders, as well as those visiting Jackson County, the Jackson County, MO Sheriff's Office is opening their offices on the following five Saturdays, from 8 am to 1 pm to provide additional time for sex offenders to register:

June 13
June 20
June 27
July 11
July 18

"Sex offender registration is an important public safety tool that helps law enforcement monitor individuals convicted of certain offenses and provides communities with access to information that can support awareness and prevention efforts. Its goal is to promote accountability, assist investigations when necessary, and help reduce the risk of future offenses while balancing public safety and legal rights," said Sheriff Darryl Forté.
