What should we think about the direction of most retail and foodie efforts amid the struggles of the current K-shaped economy?!?
On the Plaza we've seen armed security guards, a few most lower-end business come through and some neat sketches that promise taller buildings . . . But so far a great many storefronts remain empty and the district STILL isn't close what it used to be just a few short years ago . . .
And so . . .
We consider the latest pledge for upgrades and improvements that might OR MIGHT NOT offset constant protest and social justice outcry targeting the this embattled shopping corridor . . .
The Country Club Plaza announced a new initiative Tuesday to invest in community projects beyond the landmark shopping district.
The Plaza Promise is a multi-year effort to make a lasting impact across six targeted areas in Kansas City.
“We see the Country Club Plaza as more than a shopping district,” said Chris Harren, Gillon Property Group’s senior vice president of development, in a statement. “It’s a place where families build memories, young minds are inspired, our city shines, and where we collaborate to help address our community’s needs,”
