Gunfire On The Paseo Kills Victim At Convenience Store

Latest instance of deadly warm weather violence . . . Here's the report police are sharing with local media: 

Homicide 43rd and Paseo  

This afternoon, just after 4:15 PM, patrol officers were dispatched to the 4300 block of Paseo on a reported shooting. 

Upon arrival officers were directed to a convenience store on Paseo. Inside they located an adult male victim suffering from gunshot wounds. KCFD EMS responded and transported the victim to a local hospital with life threatening injuries. A short time later the victim was pronounced deceased by hospital personnel. 

This is being investigated as a homicide. The preliminary investigation indicates that there was a verbal altercation inside the store between multiple individuals that led to shots being fired and the victim being struck. Two subjects of interest were taken into custody pending further investigation. Detectives and crime scene investigators are on scene canvassing for witnesses, reviewing surveillance footage, and recovering any physical evidence.
