In a statement shared Thursday morning with KCTV, FIFA touted Kansas City as a successful host of “football history,” following Argentina’s 3-0 win over Algeria and soccer star Lionel Messi’s first World Cup hat trick, which tied the FIFA World Cup record for all-time goals scored.
