Bloggy Inquiry Of Lee's Summit GCI Honcho & Lee's Summit Mayor Beto Lopez Cont'd

We're always suspicious of any website dedicated to "investigations" of just one dude . . . Something about that kind of focus seems like either a hit piece or some kind of vendetta. In our bloggy history of looking at local websites . . . Nothing typically results from intense scrutiny of a single topic . . . Even in our days of hassling Mayor Funky . . . We often took breaks to talk about local bands or clown council members.

However . . .

We can't deny that posts about the new Lee's Summit Mayor are interesting and we'll admit that we're signed up for the feed . . . Apparently, other people are watching too . . .

You took a risk in doing so, and I don’t take that lightly. What you have shared has shaped this reporting in ways that simply would not have been possible otherwise, and it has helped ensure that what gets written here reflects what is actually happening — not just what appears in official documents and press releases."

A board presentation "proposes" making him CEO of the schools. According to our sources, this has already essentially happened.

The "Realtor"

GES's check register shows $37,638 in payments to a law firm. This lawyer also donated $2,500 to Beto Lopez's mayoral campaign and was listed on the Missouri Ethics filing as a realtor.
