Artsy KC Light Fixture Debuts In Waldo

This is KC's least favorite party district and the bar biz has never understood why a greater swath of tourists don't want to hang with angry townies who have off-putting opinions about everything and don't mind sharing them . . . 

The reality is that demographic shifts in Waldo have thwarted all manner of local entertainment and the bar scene is mostly too tense to enjoy for locals who don't already have a favorite haunt.

Still . . . Here's a nice welcoming gesture that will mostly remain ignored . . .  

The Miami-based artists behind a new 20-foot high, deep-magenta “social light sculpture” said it will be an instant landmark in Waldo, a place of “encounters, celebrating friendship, community and togetherness.”
