Activist Clay Chastain Moves Forward With Green Transportation Initiative

A friend of the blog and the most prolific petitioner in Kansas City history reports on the progress of his latest effort . . . Here's the word:

SUFFICIENT!

Today, Shawn Kieffer (Director of the KC Election Board) told Chastain the Election Board counted way over the number of valid signatures required for the Green Transportation Initiative to be found "Sufficient" & qualify to be placed before (Citywide) Voters.. Now, will KC's Meek Media have the 'kahunas' to ask Mayor Lucas & the Council if they intend to place the People's Monorail Petition on the upcoming Nov. Election Ballot without delay & without distortion as required by law (2014-Clay Chastain vs. the City of KCMO).

City Hall, which has a dark history of blocking & undermining Petitions (even overturning a 2006 Light Rail Petition Election) is not above the law nor is it above the Voters. Furthermore, what Lucas & City Council members think of the Monorail Initiative is irrelevant since "Voters have the right to legislate equally well or bad as do elected officials" (Former Mo. Appeals Court Judge, Ronald E. Holliger).
