WILL CROWN CENTER ROYALS STADIUM DESTROY DOWNTOWN'S ECONOMY?!?
Of course, online amateur economists are the best place to turn for answers . . .
And so, here's the pitch regarding impending devastation . . .
"Contrary to what Sherman and his Downtown Shills would have us believe, not all Downtown Kansas City residents are "Yuppies," the highly coveted "young urban professionals" employed in cushy jobs earning high five-figure or six-figure salaries that give them plenty of disposable income. Many Downtown residents, in fact, work relatively low-paying service jobs at retail shops, restaurants and bars in "entertainment districts" like Power & Light. These people pay controlled, but still exorbitant, rents for 500 square foot (or smaller) apartments within walking distance of their jobs because they can't afford even the cheapest high-mileage used cars.
"If Sherman is allowed to build his "entertainment district" along with his Field of Scheme, those types of jobs would initially proliferate; then they would start vanishing due to market saturation."
