A recent vigil/protest that might inspire more questions from friends & family . . . 

It was the first time McConnell’s mother, Michelle Washington, spoke publicly about her son’s death. She came with a community behind her — and with questions she says law enforcement has not answered.

“He’s not a thug. He’s not a gangster. He wasn’t a threat,” Washington said. “Everybody here attests to who he is. This is not OK and we need answers.”
