Outcry after latest crash with quadruple injuries . . . 

The Independence Police Department logged 541 vehicle pursuits in 2025, more than any comparable department in the region, according to a policy review presented to the city council by Interim Chief of Police Doug Brinkley.

Both mothers (of crash victims from the most recent incident) say they are asking the department to look at its pursuit policy before another family faces a similar situation.
